Puterbaugh, Blaine, age 77, of Lambertville, MI, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania, Ohio. He was born January 9, 1940 in Toledo Ohio  to Howard and Dorothy Puterbaugh and he attended Washington Local Schools. At a young age, he became interested in electronics and mechanics and completed many homemade projects.

Blaine began working at  Dana’s Spicer plant in 1959, and he also owned his own trucking company and did small engine repairs. When he retired from Dana 1989, he worked for several years in home construction. Blain built his own boats, and motorcycles for competition racing, winning many trophies. He took pride in maintaining his own vehicles and his home, and he was always willing to assist others with projects.

He was a Ham radio operator (WB8SS0) with a passion for antique and electric radios, and he had a collection of ones he assembled himself. He loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed times in Northern Michigan with family and friends, hunting, fishing and exploring.

In 1980 Blaine married his second wife, Sally (Hale) on June 16, 1980, and she survives.

He also leaves behind a daughter, Cindy Andre of Salem, Ohio; sons, Steven (Katie) of Eagle River, Alaska, David (Sara) of Petersburg, Michigan, and Dennis (Donna) of Erie Michigan; step-son, Jim (Jenny) Daniel; 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and sister, Sharon (James) Egolf. He is also survived by his first wife and mother of his children Beverly (Richard) Cummerow. Blaine was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Daryl.

From his childhood, dogs were an important part of Blaine’s life. He will be greatly missed by his rescue dog, Libby. In Blaine’s memory, you may make a donation to any animal rescue group or please consider adopting a shelter dog.
